About Me
I am a board-certified cardiovascular disease physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I am an expert in complex lipid disorders, genetic conditions of the cardiovascular system and coronary artery disease.
My research focuses on the discovery of the genetic causes of plaque buildup in arteries. I diagnose and treat many other heart conditions, including arrhythmias, valve disease, heart failure and hypertension.
I work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that each patient receives personalized treatment tailored to their health goals and values. Patients can expect high-quality, compassionate care and honest communication in every encounter.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I serve as an associate professor of Internal Medicine in The Ohio State University College of Medicine, leading a team of researchers working to discover novel treatments for atherosclerotic disease and vascular aging in humans. My laboratory is funded by the American Heart Association and the National Institutes of Health.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Arvanitis has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
