About Me
I am a medical oncologist who specializes in treating patients with soft tissue and bone sarcomas and I serve as an assistant professor in the Division of Medical Oncology at The Ohio State University. My passion for this specialization was fueled during a medical mission trip to Haiti early in my career. I met a patient suffering from rhabdomyosarcoma of the liver. He passed away after being unable to access basic treatment services. Ever since, it has been my mission to provide the best cancer care possible while offering a comprehensive approach that focuses on the whole person.
Patients can trust that I will do everything I can to keep their side effects to a minimum as we fight their cancer. I believe strongly in helping patients live their best lives and as a member of the Molecular Carcinogenesis & Chemoprevention Program at the OSUCCC – James, my research is focused on how a cancer patient’s quality of life impacts treatment-related outcomes. My colleagues are some of the most committed and dedicated people I have met, and it is a privilege to be part of this team. I believe the research opportunities and the support from the faculty and multidisciplinary teams here at The James will enable us to achieve our goals.?
I am also exploring cancer immunology and immunotherapy outcomes in different cancer types.? In addition, I am interested in further pursuing complementary and integrative medicine (CIM) techniques to improve cancer outcomes and quality of life. My research has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals such as BMC Cancer, Journal of Geriatric Oncology and Hematology and Medical Oncology and I have been honored to discuss my work at respected conferences around the country.? I have also been recognized with awards including The James Compassionate Care Award and the Excellence in Public Health Award from the U.S. Public Health Service.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care.
