Biography
As a physician, I work in the departments at East and Main as well as in the sports medicine clinic at Fayette County Memorial Hospital. The combination of specializing in emergency medicine and sports medicine provides me a unique opportunity to care for patients with immediate, sometimes life threatening, conditions as well as those looking to relieve their musculoskeletal pain, manage injuries or improve their athletic performance.
I believe working with the patient to identify the underlying condition leading to his or her problem is a key to successful care. This goal can be accomplished in different ways but creating a personalized plan for all patients is important to providing the care they need.
I didn't always think I would make a living in the medical field. I completed my undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Notre Dame and started my career as a high school math and science teacher in New Jersey. I returned to school and earned a master's degree from Boston University and then worked as a consultant in medical device research. It was after that when I completed my medical degree at Albany Medical College and trained in emergency medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where I served as chief resident. Before moving to Columbus, I completed a one-year fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.
I enjoy spending time with my wife and son, watching college football, running, and cooking.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Mark Conroy has reported no relationships with companies or entities.

All good...
He listened to me about all of my concerns and even about concerns I had in the past that other providers brushed off when they did not have any answers from the tests, they gave me.
