About Me
As a physician, I work in the departments at East and Main as well as in the sports medicine clinic at Fayette County Memorial Hospital. The combination of specializing in emergency medicine and sports medicine provides me a unique opportunity to care for patients with immediate, sometimes life threatening, conditions as well as those looking to relieve their musculoskeletal pain, manage injuries or improve their athletic performance.
I believe working with the patient to identify the underlying condition leading to his or her problem is a key to successful care. This goal can be accomplished in different ways but creating a personalized plan for all patients is important to providing the care they need.
I didn't always think I would make a living in the medical field. I completed my undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Notre Dame and started my career as a high school math and science teacher in New Jersey. I returned to school and earned a master's degree from Boston University and then worked as a consultant in medical device research. It was after that when I completed my medical degree at Albany Medical College and trained in emergency medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where I served as chief resident. Before moving to Columbus, I completed a one-year fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.
I enjoy spending time with my wife and son, watching college football, running, and cooking.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 10/25/2021, Dr. Conroy has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
He is always knowledgeable and caring.
Dr. Concerned about possible falls, manipulated both legs and reassured me that ligaments were in working order. Whew!
Dr. Conroy was very clear in his explanation of the possible types of injury, the process of diagnosis, and treatment options.
Dr Conroy is very patient, caring, knowledgeable and understanding.
Good explanation and laid out options for treatment in clear terms
Awesome one on one experience with the physician. He took time to explain everything thoroughly and listened to my ongoing concerns. Absolutely top-notch!
Wonderful.
Dr. Conroy was the absolute best provider I could have seen for my problem. I had sought care from another physician that made me feel very discouraged about figuring out what was causing the problem/pain. When looking for a provider, I went to OSU's website and reviewed physician ratings, their bios and personal statements, and specific areas of focus. Additionally, I wanted to know what other patients had to say. After a disappointing experience with another provider, I then researched and scheduled with Dr. Conroy. What a blessing to have met with him! He listened so intently and allowed me to share my own observations and thoughts about what may be triggering the pain. He was reassuring, explained things thoroughly, performed an extensive evaluation, and provided multiple treatment options which we discussed together. For the first time in months, he was able to not only provide a specific diagnosis, but also treated the issue as well as referred to PT. Dr. Conroy was kind, attentive, professional, and I would recommend him to anyone.
Nice

Dr. Conroy was fantastic. He took time to sit down & show my x-ray to me. He explained everything in great detail. I would highly recommend him!
listened, examined, decided plan of treatment. very good experience.
After having waited over an hour for the doctor, having been misdiagnosed, and having been not taken seriously by a provider from another medical facility, I was totally impressed by the care I received at Wexner, and by Dr. Conroy. He took the time to listen to my concerns, and made me feel confident in his ability to treat my shoulder problem.
He's great and when he talks to me he ask if I'm alright with what he is suggesting as treatment and makes sure I understand it all.
I felt great relied when I left the office that day.
Dr. Conroy is an excellent doctor. he has done everything possible to help me with my problem. the problem now requires a different provider. He recommended one on a Friday, I saw the provider on Monday. I would recommend Dr. Conroy to everyone.
As for my pain doctor, he is the very best. Dr. Mark J. Conroy, and God bless him always.
Dr. Conroy is wonderful. He takes his time with me and listens to my concerns. He finds different ways to approach things to make things hurt less but getting the same results. I appreciate he's attention to detail in my care.
Again - I have never had a bad experience. He is quick & efficient & makes sure I am OK before leaving.
