Biography
I have focused my entire career on delivering the best care possible for people with cerebrovascular disease. As a certified nurse practitioner and a certified stroke registered nurse at the Ohio State Comprehensive Stroke Center, I work with physicians in vascular neurosurgery. I specialize in treating patients with conditions such as brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformation, carotid stenosis, cavernous malformation, hemorrhagic stroke, ischemic stroke, moyamoya and subdural hematoma.
My patients can trust that I will take the time to answer all questions about their brain health and work collaboratively with them to develop individualized care plans. It is a privilege to use my skills to help people improve their quality of life and I cherish the unique opportunity to build relationships with my patients and their families.
The best part about working at The Ohio State University is the culture of quality improvement and the resources available to refine our skills as practitioners, which leads to even better care for our patients. There is an atmosphere of respect shared among my colleagues, and I appreciate that the neurosurgeons I work with recognize and foster my strengths to optimize patient care.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I actively participate in stroke and neurosurgical research studies at Ohio State’s Neurological Institute. I am a board member of the Ohio Neurosurgical Society and regularly volunteer at community health screening events.
My professional accomplishments include being honored with the Mary Ann and Robert Peterson Excellence in Nursing Practice Award. I was also proud to serve as the stroke program coordinator at Duke University Medical Center, where I helped develop the program’s first Comprehensive Stroke Center certification program.
In my free time, I enjoy experimenting with specialty coffee. I love spending time with my family and doing outdoor activities like biking, hiking, fishing and swimming.
