Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/29/2023, Dr. Schirtzinger has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
Kind & understanding
Excellent
I appreciate his questions about my health. I can tell he really cares. I wish he would have provided more in terms of a physical examination. I only received a heart and lung check. I would think an annual physical would include stomach, intestine physical examination , ENT, flexibility, etc. It would not take long and provides addional asurance that you've been examined.
Very thorough
I have alot going on with my health and I always get great info and explanations that I can understand.
Very friendly.
Everything good
He is very concerned and caring, also let me contact them if something else comes up.
Good
Very good provider. Always listens, gives options, allows me to choose.
Very caring, patient, has a listening ear, and knows his work
He was really just subbing since I was between PCPs. He did a very good job to understand history and be responsive to needs.
Dr. Schirtzinger is a fantastic doctor. An excellent listener, friendly, very knowledgeable. It was, as usual, a good experience.

He is excellent. I am fortunate to have him as my doctor.
He is always very pleasant and understanding.
Took the time to review my history and concerns. Physical exam was quite cursory/superficial - did not even have me remove my thick sweater.
I always enjoy visiting with Dr. Matt.
Good.
My last visit was more productive than prior visit(s). He had referred me to a geriatrician (?), I believe that will be very helpful, (I'm 75 years old.).
Care provider showed respect, good listening skills, and solutions to our challenges. He's always been there when we (my wife and I) need him!
Dr. Schirtzinger was thorough and well-informed. He knew what to prescribe next. Good visit.
This was my first visit with Dr. Schirtzinger to be my primary care doctor. He was excellent - he reviewed my medical history and current health care and planned for future care. I was very impressed and feel fortunate to have him as my doctor.

Listened intently on my concern and desire to stay off my prescription medication as much as we could.

He's a good listener. He researches my records before meeting with me. He acts like he cares. He's thorough with his notes. When I read his notes-there accurate. He reaches out to my other providers to get answers. He's consistent. He's a humble and respectful person. He's the first doctor I've had in my life that I would bet money that he's not a drug addict. I believe he's a good person. He doesn't push drugs on me. He respects my religion, my diet, etc.
