About Me

As a non-invasive cardiologist, I specialize in advanced cardiac imaging and treat patients with hypercholesterolemia, structural heart disease and valvular heart disease. I believe in enhancing patient care by strengthening the patient-physician relationship through productive communication. There are many complex diagnostic and therapeutic modalities currently available, and my goal is to tailor these in a way that is applicable and beneficial for each patient.

I have a passion for valvular heart disease research as it relates to cardiac magnetic resonance.

I enjoy working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center because of the collaboration among all of the subspecialties as well as our sense of community. At Ohio State, we have a willingness and dedication to achieve the best care for our patients.

In my free time I enjoy running, swing dancing and spending time with my family.

I am dependent on my pacemaker. If it doesn't function properly I die. Dr. M. Tong is great & attentive and will see me more often if need be. He was knowledgeable of my health record & one could see he cares about his patients no matter their age.

    Exc. care.

Good - seemed very interested in my well being.

  • Reviewed on Sep 17, 2020

Dr. Tong seemed 'rushed', talked very quickly & do not seem to care about my situation. He also said he is not comfortable talking about AFIB process that cardio team will handle. I was very disappointed in his approach, communication skills lack of empathy) & inability to provide meaningful information relating to my newly diagnosed AFIB.
