About Me
As a non-invasive cardiologist, I specialize in advanced cardiac imaging and treat patients with hypercholesterolemia, structural heart disease and valvular heart disease. I believe in enhancing patient care by strengthening the patient-physician relationship through productive communication. There are many complex diagnostic and therapeutic modalities currently available, and my goal is to tailor these in a way that is applicable and beneficial for each patient.
I have a passion for valvular heart disease research as it relates to cardiac magnetic resonance.
I enjoy working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center because of the collaboration among all of the subspecialties as well as our sense of community. At Ohio State, we have a willingness and dedication to achieve the best care for our patients.
In my free time I enjoy running, swing dancing and spending time with my family.

Dr. M. S. Tong is great, young, bright, and articulate on what I need to do for the upcoming surgery - I thank Dr. Tong for taking my case on. Thank him for me - He is very kind, patient and very smart and interesting to speak with.
He is straight forward and very caring doctor...He is personable, knowledgeable and well informed in his field of cardiology, easy to speak with and to understand.....
I really liked him, DR. Mathew Tong
He was informative
Very informative - great bedside manner. Would definitely recommend.
All good providers.
Very understanding & knowledgeable about my heart history.
He was dismissive & gave treatment options but did a poor job w/explaining why. He also didn't give me a plan for recurring fainting episodes.
The provider was courteous and straightforward in his delivery of information. I appreciated his direct and conclusive interpretation of my cardio test results.
The best my daughter could find.
The doctor is the same as the nurse very professional very interested in what we had to and clearly answered our questions and our level of understanding while being very sincere and relatable. Fantastic!
