Biography
I am a licensed independent social worker and chemical dependency counselor at The Ohio State University Internal Medicine and Pediatrics clinics at Grandview Yard and Hilliard. I am providing short-term counseling services and assists with linking patients to community behavioral health resources.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Michigan State University and earned a Master’s of Social Work degree with an emphasis in mental health at The Ohio State University. I have been trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of disorders using individual, couple, family, and group interventions. Prior to joining Ohio State’s General Internal Medicine team, I was a mental health social worker working in private practice. I have worked with a wide range of patients, including children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed and strengths-based perspective. My clinical strengths include providing trauma-based interventions, crisis intervention, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT). I specialize in treating depression, anxiety disorders, and substance abuse.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, and genealogy.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Dr. Morris Edelmayer has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
