About Me
As a transplant hepatologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I specialize in the care of patients with advanced liver disease and cirrhosis and perform a variety of endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, the placement of feeding tubes, and esophageal dilations. When I’m not treating patients, I provide instruction on liver disease and lead small groups of medical students in clinical practice. In addition to teaching, I enjoy conducting outcome-based research on patients with liver disease to improve patient care.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. Dr. Wellner has super bedside manners. What I like about this Dr is that he doesn't rush you. He listens looking at you. Meaning he is telling you I'm engaged in your concern. He asks for concerns and address them.
