About Me

Providing excellent, evidence-based, personalized care to my patients is my primary objective as an otolaryngologist. This level of care requires involving my patients in management plans and often collaborating with other staff and colleagues at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Ohio State's leaders are on the cutting edge of medicine and medical education. It's a joy to work with other specialists to care for patients, but I also enjoy every opportunity to teach residents and students. One of my main motivations to practice academic medicine is to influence and shape future doctors, which has led to many roles within the College of Medicine.

My own practice has been shaped by providing services to patients that otherwise may not be available such as sublingual immunotherapy and minimal invasive salivary gland procedures using sialoendoscopy. I understand the challenges that patients face and make every effort, professionally and personally, to ease their concerns and provide comprehensive care.

In my free time, I love to read, travel, watch movies, attend Ohio State football games and relax with my family.

Dr Schofield took history of my recent problem, carefully looked at my nose (seeing her for nose bleeds). Explained what she was doing and what to expect.

Nice and understanding. I was very nervous and she helped to calm me

I did not have a good experience with Dr. Schofield. Firstly, when she came into the room she did NOT introduce herself. Her demeanor was not warm and welcoming. I didn't feel listened to and she kind of made me feel stupid as I was explaining my problems/medical history. I also feel like I wasted a trip because she came to a conclusion in seconds. I could've gathered this conclusion on my own. For example, she asked " so do you want ear tubes or no". She didn't give much recommendations based on her professional opinion.

This Doctor was a referral for a specific problem ,not someone I usually see

  • Reviewed on Sep 10, 2024

In my opinion I felt as if I asked a question that I wasn't sure of, the look on the providers face says that's a dumb question. Lacked the empathy or compassion that would make someone feel comfortable enough to ask questions. Excellent surgeon I am certain but lacks the bedside manner.

Dr. Schofield was excellent. I was especially impressed by how much time she took with me and that she looked carefully at my ears, nose and throat. Looking forward to her being my ENT specialist.

I tried to summarize the information provided from doctor and there were several parts of miscommunication. Wished the dr did a better job explaining information in simpler terms.

She explained things very well and took out some of the anxiety I have regarding this procedure
