About Me
I am a comprehensive ophthalmologist, specializing in cataract surgery, as well as LASIK and refractive surgery. As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, I also treat a variety of other conditions, including dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, amongst others. I enjoy the variety of patients and disease processes that I encounter in my clinic. I love being able to educate patients on their conditions and treatment options, and work together with them to come up with a treatment plan individualized to their unique needs.
My research interests include outcomes associated with cataract surgery, and access to care in underserved populations.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our family, and our two labrador retrievers!

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Dr. Adele was excellent and answered all my questions and concerns. The Nurse Anesthetist and Anesthesiologist were knowledgeable and answered all my questions. They made me feel I was in good hands.

She knew that I had been on a medication that could cause visual impairment. Before the exam she asked if I was currently taking this medication. Then she knew what type of issues to include in her exam.

Somewhat of a short attitude...at moments the conversation was very dry and commanding.
Dr. Mona Adeli impressed me as a competent medical professional who know about vision problems. She said she would ask the low vision department concerning putting a prism in the lens of my eye glasses so that the right eye could help the left eye. She said it is quite difficult to accomplish, but it is worth a try. (I've had a prism in my lens which did quite well, in the past) so far, I have not heard from the low vision department. I'm still hoping to hear from them.
