Biography
I am an internal medicine physician specializing in pulmonary and critical care at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I treat patients for general pulmonary conditions including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease and chronic cough.
I am also a researcher, studying lung epithelial cell host defense in the context of pulmonary infection and inflammation. I have been funded by the American Lung Association and by a National Institutes of Health (NIH) K08 Career Development Award.
In addition to my clinical and research responsibilities, I help educate future physicians in my role as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine in The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Dr. Tsai has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
