About Me

As a subspecialized neurologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I have the experience and resources to treat patients with the most complex epilepsy cases. I regularly perform electroencephalogram (EEG) and other tests to determine the most appropriate treatment plan, and I manage the continuous ambulatory EEG service here at Ohio State. I also have a particular interest in epilepsy diet therapies, and I developed the clinical practice program on this therapy.

I always strive to attain the best quality of life for my patients. This means working together to identify what success looks like for each person while holistically addressing all other wellness issues caused by their epilepsy. It’s also a privilege to support patients outside of the clinic. I serve as a support group facilitator for Empowering Epilepsy.

One of the things that attracted me to Ohio State was the opportunity to help train future clinicians. I enjoy working with students and growing my career in medical education. I serve as the associate director of the Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship program at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and I established the EEG and epilepsy curriculum for trainees in the Division of Epilepsy.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family, reading, playing the guitar and traveling. I also volunteer at the Columbus Free Clinic.

Dr. Khandker is so professional, attentive, beyond knowledgeable, thorough, patient, and explains everything with great clarity.

Dr is great overall. Only issue I have is he only knows what the books tell him and when you experience a seizure the book descriptions are minor to actual experience and feelings. I'm already on meds for secondary problems cause by Epilepsy that work. Need to focus on the seizure control rather than controlling issues due to seizures. Stop the main and other problems will resolve themselves

Very clearly explained everything, and worked w/us in regards to our not wanting to use more medications, and to try more natural routes - we REALLY appreciated that!

Second visit, definitely getting to know him better.
