About Me
As a subspecialized neurologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I have the experience and resources to treat patients with the most complex epilepsy cases. I regularly perform electroencephalogram (EEG) and other tests to determine the most appropriate treatment plan, and I manage the continuous ambulatory EEG service here at Ohio State. I also have a particular interest in epilepsy diet therapies, and I developed the clinical practice program on this therapy.
I always strive to attain the best quality of life for my patients. This means working together to identify what success looks like for each person while holistically addressing all other wellness issues caused by their epilepsy. It’s also a privilege to support patients outside of the clinic. I serve as a support group facilitator for Empowering Epilepsy.
One of the things that attracted me to Ohio State was the opportunity to help train future clinicians. I enjoy working with students and growing my career in medical education. I serve as the associate director of the Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship program at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and I established the EEG and epilepsy curriculum for trainees in the Division of Epilepsy.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family, reading, playing the guitar and traveling. I also volunteer at the Columbus Free Clinic.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Khandker has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
Only issue at all was he did seem to be locked into his thoughts without really listening to all my concerns, eventhough there are a lot and a confusing mess! Some of the Major issues weren't addressed, but in that setting it's like you have a finite time to get everything in and in dealing with Brain fog it is overwhelming...oozing with Irony.
Good
Very nice, always makes sure my questions are answered.
He is very good at coming in prepared and remembering what my history is and how that affects my future care.
Everything went great
Very attentive listener, addressed all issues and concerns thoroughly.
Good experience.
Excellent
Dr. Khandker was truly phenomenal before, during, and after my appointment. Not only did he work me into his schedule due to something completely unrelated to him; he did it with kindness and compassion. He was professional and extremely knowledgeable on my condition. Not only did he review my medical records, he also had a plan of care in place before I left the facility. I feel confident Dr. Khandker is not only treating my condition he is also being pro active.
This doctor was kind, gentle, and listened to me. He actually listened to me. He was very thorough and never condescending. He understands what it's like to have epilepsy and living with a lifelong condition.
Out of the four neurologist that I have seen he was the most knowledgeable of them all
Dr. Khandker is so professional, attentive, beyond knowledgeable, thorough, patient, and explains everything with great clarity.
Dr is great overall. Only issue I have is he only knows what the books tell him and when you experience a seizure the book descriptions are minor to actual experience and feelings. I'm already on meds for secondary problems cause by Epilepsy that work. Need to focus on the seizure control rather than controlling issues due to seizures. Stop the main and other problems will resolve themselves
Appointment was quick which was fine since there were no concerns
Excellent, very knowledgeable, actually seemed, actually seemed to care.
Provider examined me and asked me questions for an hour.
Very clearly explained everything, and worked w/us in regards to our not wanting to use more medications, and to try more natural routes - we REALLY appreciated that!
Second visit, definitely getting to know him better.
Worked with me well.very knowledgeable in everything
Excellent. Helped figure out the health plan.
I was taken well care of and felt so calm.
Dr. Khandker is wonderful. He looks @ every angle and cause of my seizures.
I have absolutely nothing bad to say about my Doctor.. He is the most caring doctor I have ever seen to this date...
Very thorough
Very efficient and listen to my concerns
