About Me

I'm a dermatologist who specializes in the skin surveillance of patients with a history of melanoma and/or atypical moles. I also see patients with cutaneous lymphoma.

At The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute, I'm the director of the Pigmented Lesions Clinic, where I conduct skin checks in patients with a personal or family history of melanoma and/or a personal history of atypical or dysplastic moles. During these visits, I can take advantage of our on-site full body photography, which has been shown to improve the quality of skin checks by making it easier to identify new or changing moles and reducing the number of unnecessary skin biopsies. At The James, I also see patients with early-stage cutaneous lymphoma and lymphoproliferative disorders.

In addition to conducting research in these arenas, I'm passionate about improving access to dermatologic care for underserved populations and am leading several research and clinical projects with this objective.

Coming to Ohio State felt a bit like coming home, as I was born and raised in Cincinnati. Following college, I worked as a teacher at a residential school for children with autism spectrum disorders for a few years before attending medical school at the University of Pennsylvania, where I also stayed for dermatology residency. While at the University of Pennsylvania, I served as chief resident and also completed a clinical fellowship in cutaneous oncology, splitting my time caring for patients with a history of melanoma and cutaneous lymphoma.

I enjoy spending my spare time with my young daughters and husband, mostly taking meandering walks around our neighborhood, but also occasionally exploring local parks and restaurants. I still consider myself new to Columbus and love hearing any and all local recommendations from my patients!

    Good.

She seemed in a hurry. She or the nurse did not ask me about needing any perscription refills, which I thought was odd especially since I only have an annual visit. I use two medications perscribed by the doctor on a daily basis, so it seemed strange that no one asked how the medications were working or if I needed refills. I had to ask about perscription refills at the end of my appointment as the doctor was already in the hallway headed to another appointment. They also did not ask about cleansers I use, which had been a standard part of appointments in the past.
