I am board certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics.
This means that I spend most of my time devoted to caring for whole families, across the age spectrum. I focus on preventive medicine, chronic disease management and coordination of care across the health system. Currently, I'm accepting newborns.
I’m most interested in quality improvement and improving the delivery of health care for everyone.
What I enjoy most about The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is working with colleagues in various specialties and providing care for whole families in one office.
I enjoy spending time with my two children and husband. I also like reading and spending time outdoors.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Dr. Taj-Schaal is a highly qualified physician and is very thorough with her patients. In the last 13 years she has seen me at my best and at my worst. I have complete confidence in her.
Dr Taj is phenomenal. She is both kind and professional. The office staff at Lewis Center are always attentive and friendly. I drive past many other offices to visit Dr Taj in Lewis Center. She cares for me and my children. I wouldn't want to see anyone else.

Dr. Taj Schaal is an excellent provider. She was my Mother's doctor and I saw how engaged she was with my Mom and providing excellent patient care with empathy. I switched doctors so that she could become my primary care doctor for this reason.
Dr. Taj is a wonderful doctor. She is brilliant, concerned, compassionate, and above all caring. Two years ago I contacted Dr. Taj concerning some health problems. She did the most thorough testing she could but finally sent me to the James. There, I was first diagnosed with MDS which later turned into AML. I recently had a bone marrow transplant and I'm now in remission. During the entire 2 years of treatment, Dr. Taj often called or sent me messages on My Chart. She constantly offered me words of encouragement. I often messaged her and she consistently gave me a quick reply. Sometimes when I was feeling very down, I felt like Dr. Taj was my cheer leader, always keeping my hopes up. She gave me lots of advice that really made a difference. My whole family goes to Dr. Taj and she gave them lots of encouragement during this difficult time. I'm feeling wonderful now but often when I think of Dr. Taj, I get very emotional because of all that she has done for me. I feel so fortunate to have found such a wonderful doctor.

Do Taj Schaal is the best primary care physician I've ever had. Moved around a lot so have had my fair share of physicians. She always listens and included me in my care. She is thorough but does not order unnecessary tests, etc.
My health care provider takes the time to go over things with me, and reminds me of the things I know I need to do to maintain good health.
