Biography
I am a cardiovascular disease specialist, specializing in noninvasive cardiac imaging and the prevention, diagnosis and management of heart disease, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
I believe that patients receive the best care when they understand their conditions and feel empowered to participate in their treatment decisions. I take the time to explain cardiovascular conditions and treatment options in a clear, approachable way so that patients can feel confident in the decisions we make together.
My goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized care that helps patients manage heart disease, improve their overall cardiovascular health and prevent future cardiovascular problems. I use advanced, noninvasive imaging techniques including echocardiography, cardiac CT and nuclear cardiology, to provide accurate diagnoses and guide personalized treatment plans.
My experience in academic medicine has shaped my approach to patient care by emphasizing evidence-based medicine, collaboration and the integration of advances in cardiology into everyday clinical practice. I value the opportunity to share knowledge, learn continuously and provide high-quality care that meets the unique needs of every patient.

Academics and research
I am an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and my research focuses on cardiovascular disease, advanced cardiac imaging and women's cardiovascular health. I specialize in the prevention, diagnosis and management of heart disease, with an emphasis on using noninvasive cardiovascular imaging to improve patient outcomes and advance clinical understanding of cardiovascular conditions.
My academic interests span a broad range of cardiovascular diseases including coronary artery disease, dyslipidemias, chest pain syndromes, cardiomyopathies, heart valve diseases and cardiac arrhythmias. I am particularly interested in identifying strategies that support earlier diagnosis, more personalized treatment approaches and improved long-term cardiovascular health.
My work is guided by a commitment to translating scientific and clinical advances into meaningful improvements in patient care. Through research, education and collaboration, I seek to expand knowledge of cardiovascular disease and contribute to innovations that improve the prevention, detection and treatment of heart conditions.
As an educator and investigator, I value opportunities to mentor learners, share knowledge and foster the next generation of physicians and scientists. I am committed to advancing the field of cardiovascular medicine through scholarship, discovery and the integration of emerging evidence into clinical practice.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Neha Patel has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
