About Me

As an orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in sports medicine, I specialize in caring for patients with acute knee injuries and chronic knee pain. My role at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center involves treating ligament tears, dislocations, tendon ruptures and cartilage injuries in the knees. I utilize minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques whenever possible, but I also have extensive experience performing open knee surgeries when they are necessary.

My care philosophy is to customize the treatment based on the individual’s needs and values. After establishing an accurate diagnosis, I thoroughly explain the nonsurgical and surgical options to relieve pain and restore function. Whether the goal is to return to elite-level sports or to walk pain-free, I will work with each patient on the best plan to achieve it.

I have a clinical and research interest in knee preservation, with the goal of postponing total knee replacement surgery as long as possible. To achieve this, I offer procedures such as knee osteotomy to relieve pressure on the joint and restore proper mechanics. My work on complex knee injuries has been published in peer-reviewed journals and I have presented my findings at several medical conferences.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, traveling and powerlifting.

Very good experience. He seemed to forget my strong opinions, and why, regarding not being open to a knee replacement.
