Biography
As an orthopedic surgeon at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I specialize in treating hip and knee issues. I work with patients to explore all non-surgical options first, and I regularly perform total joint replacement and reconstructive procedures.
I am passionate about helping people recover from injury and return to the activities and lifestyles they enjoy. My approach centers on tailoring treatment plans to best suit each patient’s specific needs and goals. I believe in shared decision-making with my patients, and they can rely on me as a partner in their health care journey.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am active in research efforts. I am currently focused on strategies to improve outcomes for patients who undergo hip and knee surgeries. I have published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals and have presented findings at orthopedic conferences across the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia. I have been honored to receive several awards at national conferences for my research in hip and knee surgery.
My role includes helping educate the next generation of physicians. I am a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedics. I am also involved in professional organizations including the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Nicholas Kolodychuk has reported no relationships with companies or entities.

He helped me with associated issues which he did not have to. This was a bid hep. He went above and beyond.
He was very good in explaining about the surgery, and the need to lose weight to make sure of a good outcome. Also, he discussed the possible ways to lose the weight thoroughly, and was concise.
