Biography

I am Nicole Hess, APRN-CNP, and I specialize in the treatment of psychiatric disorders depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. My practice focuses on delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in the behavioral health urgent care setting.

Patients can expect empathetic, respectful care during our visits. I create a space where they feel heard and supported, especially during times of uncertainty. I take time to understand patients’ concerns and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations. Together, we will identify treatment options, including medication and/or therapy, and develop a plan that aligns with your goals. I chose a career in psychiatry after witnessing the impact of mental health conditions on people close to me. This experience shaped my commitment to reducing stigma and improving access to care. My background as both a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) and a psychiatric nurse practitioner allows me to approach treatment from multiple perspectives, integrating therapy-informed care with medication management when appropriate.

I have experience practicing in community mental healthcare settings, psychiatric emergency care, and clinical experiences in consultation liaison psychiatry and inpatient psychiatry. In addition to my clinical work, I support the next generation of providers by precepting nurse practitioner students through The Ohio State University College of Nursing.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, spending time in nature, playing soccer, traveling, and being with family and friends.
