About Me
I am a primary care sports medicine doctor, which means I specialize in treating non-surgical musculoskeletal issues for patients of all ages. This can include acute sports injuries, overuse sports injuries and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. My goal when providing care is to work with patients to create personalized treatment plans that incorporate their individual goals and medical needs. Additionally, I enjoy working with my patients to keep them as active, healthy and happy as possible throughout their lifetime.
Within family medicine, preventative care is an important area for me. I want to make sure my patients understand healthy behaviors and screenings that can prevent future illness. Medical issues are often avoidable so I work with my patients to manage chronic care issues.
I enjoy The Ohio State University's team-based approach, where I work closely with providers in my specialty and with providers in other specialties such as primary care, orthopedics and physical medicine. This approach encourages good communication and allows us to provide the best coordinated care for our patients. I enjoy the familiarity of the smaller clinics while still having access to the benefits of the larger institution.
In my free time, I enjoy running on the Columbus city bike trails. If I'm not running, you'll likely still find me outdoors, usually working in my yard. I moved from Wisconsin to Columbus because of the great opportunities to train here in family medicine and sports medicine. Since moving here, I've come to love the personality of this city and its people. I've been excited to stay here after finishing my training and continuing to work at The Ohio State University.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Kornder has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
Listened intently and was very creative
Listens and goes over condition clearly
Again excellent. She checked out my leg, listened as I described what happened and helped me to handle how to care for the leg.
I really appreciate Dr. Kornder's discussion of my goals, and caring for my shoulder properly, post injection.
She was friendly, courteous, concerned about my condition. A truly caring professional.
The doctor was glowing with intelligence and compassion. She did more swish-y, bend-y stuff then deemed my knees to be less damaged than I perceived and gave me hope that I can get back out on the dance floor without fear of injuring them, which I could tell she genuinely cared about.
Good very very good
Dr was fantastic with her communication of my issue
Great provider she explained everything and answered all my questions
I thought the doctor went above and beyond what I had expected and I was very pleased
Very good...answered all questions...very knowledgeable
Very good. This the first provider I have been to who actually checked out my knee rather than just looking at xrays and suggested physical therapy rather than a knee replacement.
She was thourough and attentive to my concerns
Dr. Kornder was kind, understanding, and listened to my issue with concern. Tried to give me options for my problem.

The doctor was great. She discussed my issue with my knee and suggested physical therapy and possible additional treatment as necessary. She told me to keep in touch regarding my knee and let her know if the situation exacerbates.

I was impressed by the way the doctor communicated using medical terms but was able to relate what was happening to my body by comparing it to something that happens In everyday life.
Good care and advice
The provider was excellent in explaining my condition. Her exam was very thorough and she discussed things as we went along (range of motion, etc) . The injection was painless and I feel great 10 days later. She did a great job

She explained the cause and anatomy to help me understand and asked how I learn best to tailor her explanation which was incredibly thoughtful
It was my first time seeing the provider after relocating to Columbus from another state. She asked great questions to make sure she understood not just my current issue but also my past medical history. She also took the time to explain her findings and a plan of care

Wonderful doctor. She explained what she observed and we discussed options.
Dr. Kornder listened well. She gave me good advice based on the information she had and was careful to order test before making decisions.
Dr. Kornder is very accessible for follow up questions after my appointment. I had additional testing done following my visit, and I received several messages via myChart from Dr. Kornder to explain the results and to answer all questions. I really appreciate how responsive she is to my questions both during and after a visit. Dr. Kornder also does a very good job ordering all follow up testing and referrals needed. I was very pleasantly surprised that a visit to a sports medicine injury clinic resulted in such attentive and comprehensive care.
Showed concern whether or not, I understood her medical exclamation.
Excellent, very attentive to me, explained everything in detail, very friendly, great expertise.
Informative, but seemed to lack empathy for situation. No follow up.
Communicated clearly and patiently.
