Biography
As an Addiction Medicine physician with a background in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, I’m passionate about delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals facing substance use disorders–especially those dealing with co-occurring pain and addiction. I lead the Addiction Medicine Consult Service at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center East Hospital, where I work with a multidisciplinary team to support hospitalized patients through withdrawal management, harm reduction, and long-term recovery planning.
My clinical work is guided by empathy and science. I integrate motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care to meet people where they are, reduce stigma, and promote healing.
In addition to seeing patients, I mentor medical students, residents, and fellows, and conduct research through the Innovation Recovery Lab at Talbot Hall. My work explores the neuroscience of addiction, overdose risk prediction, and the connections between chronic pain and opioid use. I believe that when we combine research, advocacy, and education with thoughtful clinical care, we can change lives.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
