Academics and research

As a member of the Molecular Carcinogenesis and Chemoprevention Program at the OSUCCC - James, my research is focused on identifying genetic risk factors that increase a patient’s odds of being diagnosed with cancer. I am the co-investigator in a long-standing study centered on familial papillary thyroid cancer. We are investigating candidate variants and the impact of polygenic risk factors.

I have coauthored dozens of research articles in peer-reviewed journals. I have also delivered poster presentations across the nation, including before the American Society of Human Genetics, the Endocrine Society, the National Society of Genetic Counselors, and the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
