Biography
I am a nurse practitioner with over 20 years of nursing experience. I received my master’s in nursing from Franciscan University and have been working in interventional radiology at the OSUCCC – James since 2014. I don’t specialize in any one area of cancer treatment but instead work as part of a multidisciplinary team that performs procedures with image guidance that can either facilitate cancer treatments or treat complications that cancer or metastasis of cancer can cause. Not only do our physicians perform targeted treatments for cancer, but they also perform procedures that are essential to patients undergoing clinical trials or research.
Being a nurse practitioner in such a specialized area is very rewarding. We often see the same patients on a routine basis and can impact their lives by performing procedures that provide much-needed comfort. Patient care at the OSUCCC – James comes first and foremost. The care that is provided to patients undergoing care by all levels of the medical center staff, from the physicians to the nurses to the housekeepers, is just phenomenal.
In addition to my work at The James, I am a member of the Ohio Association of Advanced Practices Nurses. I also volunteer for the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team and Disaster Health Services.
