About Me

I’m a physician assistant in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The James, where I help assist in reconstructive surgery for all types of cancers, with a particular focus on breast, head and neck, skin and sarcoma. I also help patients with lymphedema, which can be a side effect of cancer or cancer treatment.

The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery department at The James is second to none. Since we have multidisciplinary treatment teams, patients can receive all of their care at one facility. This eases the burden on the patient and makes for easy interaction between providers, which results in better patient care. Our department also has a large research presence and several clinical trials that keep us on the cutting edge of medicine so we can provide our patients with top quality care.

The best part about working at The James is the people. I don't believe there is another facility in the country that has such a caring staff. Every one of our patients has a unique story, and we get an amazing opportunity to be a part of that story. Giving patients back something that cancer has taken away from them is a feeling that you cannot put into words, and it makes this job all the more rewarding.

In addition to my work at The James, I co-developed Ohio State's Advanced Practice Provider Microsurgery Certification Program and co-authored several articles in publications like the Journal of Oncological Medicine and the American Journal of Physiology. I am also an active participant in the annual Pelotonia event.
