About Me

I’m a neurosurgeon specializing in open and endovascular neurosurgery. I am one of a small number of dual-trained vascular neurosurgeons in the nation. I received my medical degree from the Buffalo School of Medicine in New York, and I completed an internship and residency in neurological surgery at Georgia Regents University. Additionally, I finished a fellowship in open and endovascular neurosurgery at Emory University.

My research interests include the inflammatory and vascular response to subarachnoid hemorrhage, novel therapeutic modalities for complex aneurysms, evaluation of new devices and techniques for the treatment of neurovascular disorders, and the prevention and treatment of vasospasm. In 2019, I served as president of The Ohio State University Neurosurgical Society and was appointed as endovascular/cerebrovascular fellowship director.

I enjoy working in The Ohio State University’s academic setting, where I can participate in resident education, research and clinical care. Everything a patient needs for their treatment and recovery is here, and it is a privilege to collaborate with other providers who value excellence in health care. Together, we provide our patients comprehensive and individualized care.

Dr. Youssef was impatient and unpleasant to deal with. He always seemed rushed and didn't want to answer questions. I am not saying he didn't do a good job on the procedure, but because of how he was in person, I would not recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Youssef took his time reviewing MRI & CT Results and seemed quite confident regarding a full recovery (Dr. Mark/Radiologist) did excellent job reviewing the results.
