Biography

As a board-certified dermatologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I have the privilege of providing care for patients across all ages and stages of life. My practice encompasses both medical and surgical dermatology, including skin cancer screenings, medical management of skin conditions, and performing cutaneous surgical procedures. I also have a professional interest in assisting patients affected by hair loss and founded a specialty clinic to help provide them with specialized care.

I take great pride in delivering care with professionalism, curiosity, and compassion while fostering a calming atmosphere during each appointment. I firmly believe in shared decision making and work with my patients to deliver collaborative care that incorporates evidence-based medical guidance and individualized patient preferences.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy time with my family, traveling to new places, and embracing the outdoors through hiking, tennis, and skiing – on the water and on the slopes.

Consulting and related relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 11/3/2025, Paul Macklis has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
