Biography
I provide general internal medicine and pediatric care at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I specialize in treating both adult and pediatric patients, and completed a combined residency program with The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about training the next generation of physicians. I am an assistant professor of Internal Medicine – Pediatrics, mentor medical students interested in this specialty, and serve as a faculty leader for both students and residents. I’ve been honored to receive awards such as the John McNaugher Stang Award for Inspiring Internal Medicine Resident Teacher and the General Medical Education (GME) Housestaff Award for Teaching.
I appreciate the commitment to research at The Ohio State University. My work has focused on topics such as immunosuppression and exaggerated immune responses, simulation education to improve resuscitation of pregnant patients, and developing specific curriculums to enhance medical education for residents. My research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and I’ve presented my work before respected medical conferences.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. Dr. Chang is an exemplary physician and a credit to The Ohio State University medical system. As a patient dealing with a chronic medical condition (diabetes), I would estimate that I spend more time than the average patient interacting with my primary care provider. Dr. Chang, in terms of technical expertise, patient interactions, and keeping current with the most cutting-edge treatments, is the best physician with whom I have interacted in the past 10 years.
