About Me
I am a gastroenterologist who specializes in treating patients with pancreatic disorders. I believe in providing patients with a comprehensive evaluation, which helps determine the nature of their symptoms and develop an effective management plan.
My clinical experience has impacted my research interests. As a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program at the OSUCCC – James and an NIH-funded principal investigator for the Consortium for the Study of Chronic Pancreatitis, Diabetes and Pancreatic Cancer, my research seeks to further understand the relationship between new-onset diabetes mellitus and pancreatic cancer, including the potential role for early detection.
I also oversee evaluation and surveillance for patients at increased risk for pancreatic cancer due to a family history or underlying genetic predisposition. Additionally, I am investigating different therapies to modify the inflammatory profile of chronic pancreatitis, which is a pre-malignant condition.
What I enjoy most about working here at Ohio State is the ability to give patients access to a wide variety of services by working with a variety of highly skilled specialists. These services include advanced imaging and endoscopy, surgery, nutrition and other medical specialties.
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, attending Ohio State football games and relaxing with my family.

Dr Hart was great. Explained my MRI results thoroughly and listened to my questions. He even went above and beyond and reached out to my medical oncologist with the results that led to further testing per my oncologist.

I have a unique issue with my pancreas that other doctors don't have the expertise to confidently diagnose. Dr Hart was very prepared with my case and had answers that I have not received before. He also has an in depth plan to investigate further. I can tell that I have found the right doctor for my pancreatic issues and have 100% confidence in him. His understanding is at a different level than others I have seen.
