About Me
As a plastic surgeon, I provide microsurgical solutions for patients with a variety of complex defects, as well as a fair amount of cosmetic surgery. As the director of Ohio State’s Limb Preservation Program, I work to prevent amputations in patients who have severe wounds on their extremities. I also perform cancer reconstruction surgery for patients with breast cancer, head and neck cancer and cancer in their limbs.
I don’t see myself as just a service provider. My goal is to make sure that I connect with my patients on a deeper level while providing their healthcare needs.
The most rewarding part about my job is that I am able to make a difference in people’s lives. With all of the rules, regulations and paperwork that come with being a physician, it’s the opportunity to connect with my patients that makes me want to get up each morning and come to work.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Chandawarkar has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
This one of the best and most concern doctor I ever had
Very descriptive
They were very helpful
He respected my wishes to the utmost, he was easy going, instilled trust, listened to my concerns and thoughts. I couldn't have asked for more.
Because of him I still have my leg. My knee was infected two years ago and thanks to him and many others they saved my leg.
I have had all great experiences no bad experiences.
Cared about my issues that I was facing and he listened to me.
Dr. Chandawarkar is God's gift to plastic surgery. He called me prior to my procedure and informed me about the process and asked if I have any concerns. He made several suggestions to get me to relax and was beyond compassionate regarding my anxiety. He is absolutely spectacular and his skill speaks for itself. I am recovering with basically no scars. He even called me from out of state to check on my progress. You just can't expect care like this today. He is phenomenal!

Very impressed with Dr. He was clear, consice, knowledgeable, friendly. Spend good amount of time explaining and making sure all my questions were answered.
Dr. Chandawarkar is a very pleasant, professional, and took very good care of me. Good man - thank you.
Very good
The Dr has been great
Dr. Chandawarkar was less helpful this visit from the initial one. He rushed through my questions and didn't seem to know why I was there either. Very unfortunate because I am nervous for my surgery and it felt like I shouldn't have been there.
Chatted with me about who I was, very respectful of my body & my privacy. Reassuring.
All good.
He listened and gave me the gacts I needed.
They were very nice & made me feel very comfortable.
All Good
He seemed to be in. Hurry
Very much the same as the nursing care. Dr. Chandawarkar and his team are the best medical care I've ever received.
Excellent
