Biography
I am a board-certified nuclear medicine physician and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I completed my training in Montréal at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM), affiliated with the University of Montreal, and at Mass General Brigham, affiliated with Harvard Medical School.
I specialize in diagnosing and evaluating a broad range of conditions–including cancer, infectious diseases, and other complex disorders–using advanced molecular imaging techniques. My clinical practice emphasizes accurate, image-guided interpretation that support multidisciplinary decision-making, informs treatment selection, and optimizes patient outcomes
In addition to diagnostic imaging, I provide radionuclide therapies for conditions such as prostate cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, and thyroid cancer.

Academics and research
My clinical and academic work is strengthened by an Honours Bachelor's degree in biochemistry and additional coursework focused on pharmacology and physiology. This background enhances my ability to connect imaging biomarkers to disease biology and to apply pharmacokinetic principles to radiopharmaceutical selection, protocol optimization, medication-related factors that influence imaging and therapy, and individualized treatment planning. It also supports close collaboration with radiopharmacy, medical physics, oncology and referring teams to deliver precise, patient-centered care.
Beyond my clinical responsibilities, I am dedicated to teaching and mentoring trainees, and advancing clinical research that improves patient care and drive innovation in nuclear medicine.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Rami Chatta has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
