About Me
My ophthalmology practice includes expertise in cornea and external diseases, cataract and refractive surgery, and other eye conditions.
I've always wanted a career where I could help people. What makes me happy in life is when I can help someone in need.
Providing a medical or surgical therapy can truly change a patient's quality of life. When people tell me how grateful they are for my care, it makes me feel good about what I do. I also enjoy educating medical students and resident physicians.
In addition to my ophthalmology work at Ohio State, I have participated in medical mission trips to Nicaragua and Ghana with Ohio State colleagues. We've done vision screenings, corneal transplants, cataract surgery and other treatments for children and adults. It’s always a rewarding experience. The people there are so appreciative. I love knowing I've helped change someone's life.
I enjoy working at Ohio State. Ohio State's Eye and Ear Institute is a beautiful facility and easy to access. We have modern equipment and spacious exam rooms. We have the resources and expertise to help people in many ways.

When the doctor walked in the said hello to me and introduced herself and sat at her desk without ever looking at me which was strange. Things turned around quickly though and she was very engaging and friendly. Just a rough start

Dr Kuennen is always a pleasure to work with. She is the surgeon who removed a pterygium in 2010.
Dr. Kuennan is very nice and always gives me a through exam. She's pleasant and easy to talk to. I have been seeing her for the past 6-7 yrs. and prior to that I had been a patient of Dr. Tom Mauger for 35 years.

I was very fearful of the procedure and both the doctor and anesthesiologist were compassionate and great doctors. The anesthesiologist rubbed my hand during the procedure and their positive energy helped me with my anxiety. This was the best care I've ever received.
