About Me
I am an emergency medicine physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center who specializes in treating sports-related injuries. I serve as a lead physician for The Ohio State Orthopedic Immediate Care clinic at the Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute. In my role, I care for patients with emergent and highly debilitating injuries as well as common nonsurgical musculoskeletal issues such as concussions, fractures, sprains, muscle strains and arthritis.
I chose this specialty because I am passionate about helping patients achieve their athletic and activity goals.? As a former Division I collegiate athlete, I understand my patients’ desire to resume their sport or activity. My goal is always to help them get back to doing what they love, pain-free, as quickly as possible.
At The Ohio State University, patient care is team-based and the level of camaraderie is unparalleled. My colleagues all share a compassionate devotion to their patients, and a focus on always doing the right thing. It’s a privilege to be part of this team. I also enjoy helping train the next generation of physicians. I serve as a preceptor for medical students and provide instruction on the types of emergent medical conditions they can expect to face during their careers.
Throughout my training and career, I have witnessed just how interconnected emergency medicine and sports medicine can be. Further development of these skillsets could aid prevention efforts and lead to more effective and efficient treatment of on-field emergency conditions. My research interests are focused on enhancing education for treating on-field medical emergencies, as well as systems evaluation and quality improvement efforts. I am also interested in investigating the benefits of integrating musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging within the emergency department.
I have authored peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on topics including lower-extremity dislocations and multi-ligament knee injuries. I have also delivered educational presentations regarding these topics before the National Athletic Trainers Association.
When I’m not working, I enjoy playing with my dog, hiking and weightlifting. I also love playing sports, especially basketball and baseball, and cheering on my favorite sports teams.

In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
