Said Atway, DPM

My dr is awesome. He cares!!! I feel it. He smiles and listens to me and knows who I am and my family.

Said is ALWAYS great! He takes time to explain things (despite that I am a health care provider) and makes sure that I am doing the right things, ie exercise, shoes, lifts, inserts, etc. Said has completed two extensive surgeries on my foot and the care surrounding the second surgery was, I believe in my best interest and enabled the best possible outcome.

Dr Atway is an excellent provider! He listens well, explains everything, asks if I understand and if not, he will explain again. Excellent interpersonal skills!

He did a very good job of telling me exactly what he was doing and how my wound looked gave me very good advice also about shoes.

The resident doctor was very thorough and has great patient relatability. Doctor also very easy to talk to and I would definitely return if needed.

He was great. Listened and took time to discuss various issues that might be related. Quickly got an x-ray and read it with me immediately afterwards. Seems he has a good team and is a doc I would suggest to anyone with foot issues.

Never any bad experiences. Dr.Atway is simply the best.

Did not spend time with me. Did not elaborate on types of shoes and orthotics that work with my type of feet. Not detailed enough so I could purchase correct products. He did not examine me just talked. He spent about 5 minutes with me.

During my visit Dr. Atway did not see the fracture present on my toe from the x-rays taken on the day of the visit. He later called to notify me of the findings from radiology.

The doctor was very friendly. He translated medical terms into "English" so I knew what he was talking about.

Provider took my concerns very seriously and wanted to make sure that I understood the answers.

Dr. Atway is kind, professional, and LISTENS!! He explained everything about my condition very well. His resident ( young woman - I don't remember her name ) was also excellent!

Every appointment, Dr. Atway has provided great care. He has answered every question that has crossed my mind and done so in a way that made it easy to understand. He has responded in a timely fashion any time I have needed to message him through MyChart and when needed has acted quickly and decisively in the best interest of my care. I genuinely could not have asked for better.

He reviewed my xrays and gave me a detailed explanation of what he saw, what his recommendation were, what the risks were, and answered all of my questions and was very receptive to what my decisions were. As well as the Resident/Fellow. He was fantastic as well.

So pleased with Dr. Atway that my wife now sees him, and I am in a study he is conducting.

I think the dr. was awesome! He knew what he was doing and I felt very confident w/going forward on the steroid injection in my foot for the plantar fasciitis/pain.

No bad experiences, all good. I will be on light duty when I return to work which is great news.

Called 2 days before scheduled surgery to come to the office to explain why the doctor could not complete surgery to meet my expectations. Had xrays and cat scan to determine Issue and was told surgery could help, only to be told that surgery would not be Ideal.I was told doctor spoke with other doctors and they did not recommend surgery. Was the original podiatrist that provided the initial surgery, of which I was not satisfied with, consulted. Also, because the visit took longer to help me understand why surgery could not be done, I was charged for an office visit. Finally, at the end of the visit, I was told that bone stimulation could possibly help and that a referral was going to be done. One and 1/2 weeks went by and I heard nothing Meanwhile, still with pain and walking problems. It was after I called when a referral was finally done. Still waiting to hear.

Dr. Atway doesn't usually come to wound center on Fridays - he came in just to see me - I had said it was urgent.

Dr. Atway takes care of my medical condition with such professionalism and effectiveness. He is a great asset to OSU! I even referred my husband to his practice.

Obviously concerned with my problem and diagnosed and suggested the least invasive treatment. He provided least cost solutions which are working well.

I love Dr. Atway. He is a good educator for his residents, discussing what has been done and suggested by the resident. He is very hands on if he needs to be (trimming my toenails shorter after I requested it) and explains reason it is fine to do so. He also commented on recent health problems (TIA, DM, A1C results) and stated what foot care Medicare allowed. He is very personable and pleasant.
