Biography
I am a board-certified nurse practitioner with the Division of Rheumatology and Immunology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I have the privilege of collaborating with some of the top physicians in the field of rheumatology. Together, we manage a wide range of diseases that includes the ones listed here.
As an advanced practice provider, my role is to diagnose, treat and educate patients who have received these diagnoses. When patients come to see me, we develop a collaborative plan of care tailored to their unique needs and preferences. I believe that by involving the patient in the decision-making process, we are better able to work together to achieve wellness goals.
I enjoy working in academic medicine as I have access to multiple ways of learning and sharpening my abilities as a patient care provider. I also serve as an adjunct instructor of Clinical Practice for The Ohio State University College of Nursing.

Sandy Bishara is one of the best providers I have ever had!
This was my first patient visit with this provider that was a referral from A recent retired doctor.

Very knowledgeable N. P., very clearly outlined plan of care with explanations why, checked for my agreement. There are just a few points on visit notes, clearly gleaned from past medical record, which are not accurate, mostly out of chronologic order.

Sandy is absolutely present during all our visits, actively listens to me and we engage in collaborative conversation about my concerns and plan of care; she respects me as a human being and patient. Though she is a specialist, Sandy takes a holistic view in terms of my care and treatment.

Very thoughtful and showed care. Sandy is the first provider to discuss the appearance of my joints and gave an explanation. Sandy is the first provider to discuss what she was seeing and what it lead her to think may be happening, while expressing she couldn't remove any possible Dx from the table and why they were still possibilities.

She's one of my favorite doctors
Sandy was very attentive, and affirmed all that I had said about my condition by repeating it to me for clarification. She was well aware of this Myalgia, and treated me with kindness and respect. My previous experience with being treated (post Covid 2022) was much less efficient. (No-one seemed to believe my level of pain, and I suffered for about 1 year before it was resolved) I was treated, and was pain free after only 3 weeks. (the hold-up was that my PCP could not see me for 2 weeks from my call for help)
