Biography

Dr. Sarah Hermans is a board-certified internal medicine physician committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered primary care. She earned her MD and MPH degrees from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed her residency training in internal medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. During her training, she pursued additional expertise in global health and the care of LGBTQ+ populations.

Dr. Hermans manages a broad spectrum of acute and chronic conditions, including cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, depression and ADHD. She has special clinical interests in the care of patients with HIV, weight management, and the care of individuals during perimenopause and menopause.

Her approach emphasizes not only evidence-based medical management but also the importance of nutrition, physical activity, mood and sleep in optimizing health. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive care and is especially committed to partnering with patients who may have experienced barriers to health care. Dr. Hermans values the long-term relationships fostered in primary care and is committed to shared decision-making that prioritizes each patient’s goals and concerns

    Dr Herman's is always professional and thorough- asks good questions, lets me raise new issues and show curiosity. I value her plain, frank, and honest feedback and information sharing. She doesn't seem to judge at all which is a nice change.
