Biography
I became a physician because I am deeply committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care, with an emphasis on helping people during some of their most vulnerable moments. As a pulmonary and critical care specialist, I diagnose and treat lung conditions and provide care in the Intensive Care Unit. My patients can always rely on me for evidence-based treatment that is personalized to their unique needs.
I have been recognized as a Castle Connolly 'Top Doctor' for several consecutive years, a distinction awarded to top physicians based on peer nominations and rigorous screening. I believe in a patient-centered approach where listening, patient education and shared decision-making play a vital role in treatment. Whether managing chronic lung conditions or providing critical care, my goal is to help patients and their families feel informed and supported every step of the way.
My role includes helping to educate the next generation of physicians. I am an Assistant Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I serve as an Interprofessional Education (IPE) Champion, working to strengthen collaboration among healthcare professionals and I also teach a pre-doctoring small group course, mentoring medical students as they develop essential clinical skills. I also serve as Associate Program Director for the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship program.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Dr. Ogake has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
