About Me
I became a board-certified nurse practitioner because I am passionate about helping patients achieve their health goals through support and encouragement. As a primary care provider at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I see patients for acute illnesses and injuries and have experience treating chronic autoimmune conditions such as multiple sclerosis, inflammatory bowel disease and rheumatoid arthritis.
My patients can expect an evidence-based, holistic approach with treatments tailored to their specific goals and values. Building a trusting relationship with patients and their families is important to me. I recognize that each patient has unique challenges and concerns, and I do all I can to support them. I strive to ensure every patient feels heard and understood, and they can count on me for compassion and empathy in every encounter.
Throughout my career, I’ve supported patients during some of their most vulnerable moments. My previous experiences have included time spent as an emergency department nurse, caring for hospitalized patients at the bedside, and treating patients in urgent care facilities during the pandemic. I was also inspired by time spent in El Salvador during my undergraduate career, where I saw people supporting each other despite their own struggles. I recognized this as a call to serve my own community and to always give my best self to others.
My role also includes helping educate and guide future nurses and nurse practitioners. Outside of work, I’m involved with the Catholic Medical Association and the Order of Malta to provide health care to those who cannot afford it. I also offer my time as a childcare volunteer to support underserved mothers and serve as a Girl Scout troop leader.

Very professional and helpful in general
She is very caring and concerned. However I feel she is way to conservative in treatment
Thorough
Provider did not listen well or attempt to understand my health concerns. She was not knowledgeable on my medications- which are certainly not unusual. She did not want to take the responsibility of becoming my PCP; in fact, she was completely uninterested in this.
My care provider has always been compassionate and professional. She is very attentive to my concerns and provides great service.
All good
Wonderful
Stephanie Zaino by far provides great care. Even though not covered by my insurance I am happy to pay to have the care provided by Ms Zaino because it is top notch
Excellent
Very good listener talks with me not at me
Great communication
Was very attentive to my concerns and made sure to recommend me information regarding better health.
Care provided seemed intent on understanding my medical concerns and seemed very thorough.
Ms. Zaino provided top notch care and I feel listened to my concerns and made a plan to address them
She is very smart and asked a lot of great questions. I may refer my family to her as well.
Overall I'd say good. I wanted a little bit more education or thoughts on what I was Saying but it was my first visit so lots of questions about my history. I had to send a message to kind of get more clarity. I just like over educating as a patient and I didnt necessarily get that.
Stephanie Zairo is an amazing provider. I can trust her with my concerns, she listens to me carefully and seems genuinely interested in helping me.
She spent time listening to my concerns and put a plan together for me to address the concerns.
Stephanie asked all the questions about me and I was able to tell her some family medical history that concerned me for the future of my health. She asked questions to find out more information that I could not give her at the time but would look into for the next visit.
CNP S. Zaino Was there extraordinarily patient and she listened to my concerns and she did exactly what I was hoping she would do which was more than just refill a prescription but help me to be able to learn how to monitor my glucose levels in my body better deliver my Overall A1C. She took some labs and my sugar was high from the labs and they contact me within 12 hours on my home phone to make sure I was OK. They even follow up the next day.. This is the extra extraordinary care that I received with that visit and I received OSU Wexner for the last few years. Come to get very, very complacent and having tremendous care with OSU Wexner, Which is the kind of a problem to have when things are so good you get used to it.
Spent time getting to know me and listening to my concerns
