My approach to patient care places a strong emphasis on informing my patients. I help them to understand the risks and management of diabetes. I communicate with them about this and other aspects of managing their care. It's important to me to educate my patients so that we can work together to create an individualized plan of care.
When caring for my patients, I’m mindful of their family and friends who support them during their pregnancy and birth. I work together with my patients and their family to create positive, family-centric care plans.
This work is very rewarding, including the many benefits of being at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. We have great clinical teams here. There are many excellent professionals all working together to keep our patients healthy and safe.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 03/28/17, Dr. Thung has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies.
