About Me

As a nurse practitioner working in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, I focus on helping patients improve their quality of life. Our patients have various functional impairments, often due to stroke, injury or other disabling conditions. Helping them overcome their current deficits is both challenging and rewarding. I am constantly impressed by how strong and resilient our patients and their families can be when faced with traumatic events.

I am fortunate and proud to work with an outstanding multidisciplinary team. Our physicians, therapists and entire staff are committed to helping our patients through any means possible. By combining teaching, research and clinical care, we promote and provide the highest level of health care possible.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy connecting with my community by participating in a neighborhood book club, yoga and other community events.

Ms. Susan was the first PA that actually listened to me. She reviewed my prescriptions, and found a conflict that could be causing my issues. She is a great asset to the OSU team,

My caregiver and I noticed multiple red flags during my appointment with RN Susan Burpee. Some of these red flags were:- She rambled and talked fast and rushed through the entire appointment- She said "Don't send me a long message or I won't read it" when I wasn't planning on sending her a message at all and the conversation wasn't even on the subject of messaging. After reviewing her visit note I then realized almost everything she wrote was Incorrect. She did not notate my answers how I expressed them and twisted words I said to different meanings. The physical evaluation was also done incorrectly in multiple ways. She didn't record what actually happened and also added multiple things she never truly evaluated. I can be more specific about incidents if you would like to call me and ask but writing every detail is difficult for me. I will be contacting OSU patient experience as well as scheduling another appointment with a different RN in the OSU TBI Clinic
