When people lose the ability to walk or move independently, make decisions, or take care of their daily needs, our team of rehabilitation experts is ready to help improve quality of life by restoring and improving function. The goal is for patients to not only get out of the hospital sooner, but also to continue rehabilitating in an outpatient setting or at home.

Transition and lifespan care

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center focuses on providing adult physical medicine and rehabilitation care for patients with childhood onset and developmental disabilities both as they transition from pediatric to adult care settings and as they age.

  • Spina bifida
  • Intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Pediatric-onset disabilities
  • Neurodevelopmental disabilities

Services

  • Health care transition from pediatric to adult physical medicine and rehabilitation
  • Diagnosing and managing musculoskeletal and neurologic symptoms
  • Prescription of braces and equipment
  • Referrals for physical, occupational, speech and other therapies
  • Referrals for smart home and adaptive driving evaluations
  • Spasticity management (including botulinum toxin injections and intrathecal baclofen pumps)
  • Wheelchair prescription and fitting in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Assistive Technology Clinic
  • Social work services to connect patients with community resources

Valet Parking

Valet service is available at Martha Morehouse Outpatient Care, Outpatient Care Dublin, Outpatient Care New Albany and East Hospital and the following main campus locations (James Cancer Hospital, Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital and the Brain and Spine Hospital). Valet costs may vary per location.

Valet accepts cash, credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. After your visit, you can request your vehicle by:

  • Presenting your ticket at the cashier podium
  • Calling the valet team using the phone number on your ticket
  • Scanning the QR code on your ticket
  • Using the “Text Down” feature listed on your ticket
