Biography
I'm a dermatologist at The Ohio State University specializing in General Dermatology. My main areas of interest include acne, eczema, psoriasis, moles and skin cancers. It is a true privilege to care for adult and pediatric patients and address their dermatologic concerns. Every day brings new challenges, interesting disease presentations and opportunities to help my patients.
In addition to my clinical work and teaching responsibilities, I am active in community engagement with community outreach in skin cancer awareness and free skin cancer screenings.
Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, I have called Ohio my home for the last 20 years. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids and cheering on the Buckeyes in every sport.

Academics and research
I've been a Buckeye since 1998 when I arrived to complete an Internal Medicine residency followed by a Dermatology residency. I joined the faculty in 2007, and I love everything about The Ohio State University. I'm so thankful to work with incredible faculty and staff at a wonderfully vibrant and innovative medical center. I'm blessed to teach medical students and residents, and honored to be training the next generation of aspiring dermatologists as a professor of Internal Medicine.
I also serve on the Ohio State College of Medicine's Admissions Committee and on the Editorial Committee of the national Women's Dermatologic Society.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Susan Massick has reported no relationships with companies or entities.

Always does well
Dr. Massick got me in to see her very quickly so I could leave on a planned vacation without worrying about a skin lesion. I really appreciated that, as the past year has been challenging because of my husband's health issues.
Positive and knowledgeable
Dr. Massick is very friendly and easy to talk to and listen to what you have to say.
She is excellent
Dr. Massick helped me years ago and helped me again during my recent visit. I'm glad I was able to stay with her vs switching to a new dr.
Very knowledgeable. Explains medical terms clearly. Very relatable.
Provider was excellent in every way
Really like Dr. Massick. She is every thorough in her exams. If you have a question or concern she doesn't hesitate to answer. She'll explain things in detail. I travel 1 hour 45 minutes each way and I know when I leave I am totally satisfied. Thank You Dr. Massick
Pleasant, informative. She was very careful with my privacy and made sure I was comfortable during the exam. She diagnosed a condition a previous OSU dermatologist refused to confirm one way or another. She made sure I understood the condition and answered all of my questions.
Clear explanations for all the skin conditions
Thorough and caring. Fully explained my choices, allowed me to ask questions, then we agreed on the medical plan to address my condition
Knowledgeable about my condition, prescribed needed meds, referred me to another doctor who could help me with management of my particular skin condition.
Excellent care provider- trust Dr M and she always provides excellent care
Experience was all good
My care provider is the absolute best. Could not be happier.
All was good. She gave me options on care, explained, and did the treatment immediately, which was very helpful.
Excellent experience. Dr. Massick is the best.
Very knowledgeable, helpful, explained things well, concerned about my health, answered questions well
Dr Massick is always great. Very professional and knows my history.
