About Me

As section chief of geriatrics at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I have extensive experience in completing and supervising clinical evaluations of older adults in a variety of clinical care settings. My academic background is in health services research and program development — both serve as the foundation of my expertise in chronic disease epidemiology, clinical case adjudication, as well as survey and Medicare claims-based data analysis. I have been a co-investigator on the Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial (SPRINT) since 2012, where I explored the complex relationship between cardiovascular comorbidity and the presence of geriatric syndromes (such as falls, cognitive impairment) in health outcomes. I have been a co-investigator with faculty in the departments of Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, Pharmacology, Hematology-Oncology, Neurology, and in the schools of Nursing, Public Affairs, Public Health, and Social Work.

Dr. Gure listens to my concerns and knows my personal history and family situation. She takes the time to actively listen and then to answer my concerns giving me options to resolve my issues. This takes time. I know Dr. Gure gives the same attention to all her patients so I don't mind if she runs late for my appointment. I appreciate that she gives all her patients the time and attention that she gives me.
