About Me
As a board-certified anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained interventional pain management specialist, I see patients with complex pain complaints.
Within the field of pain medicine, I am particularly interested in neuromodulation. Spinal cord stimulation specifically, is a treatment that has been successful with some of my toughest cases who weren’t able to find relief through other interventions.
Whether a patient’s pain is a result of trauma, injury, cancer or degenerative changes, it can significantly interfere with his or her quality of life. I do my best to apply my training to each and every challenge and together, with the rest of our dedicated spine team, help my patients find relief from their unusually unrelenting problems.
I love working here at Ohio State because I’m able to collaborate with other specialists from different fields to help find solutions, solve problems and deliver the best possible care.
When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my wife and two-year old daughter. I’m also an avid European soccer and Ohio State Buckeye fan.

I've been dealing with Spinal Stenosis for 3 years and have seen a variety of doctors. Dr. Weaver listened to my entire history and it is a complicated history. Doctors just don't do that. Most providers want the quick in and out. I was amazed and surprised and grateful. This was an excellent appointment.

Extremely friendly and courteous. He was also funny which lightened the mood. I brought my 81-year-old mother who is completely overwhelmed these days. Also with us was my 81 year-old father who has dementia and my brother.This was a second opinion visit because we had a bad experience with our first pain management doctor. Dr. Weaver came highly recommended from by an acquaintance I met. We weren't disappointed. He was great and gave us some hope for pain relief outside of surgery. I am grateful for that.

I would have liked more detailed info on what may have caused my issue. He spent less than 60 seconds answering this question. I understand he was just there to give me an injection and that part was great. Overall, I'm frustrated because I'm only seeing a nurse practitioner and I don't feel like I'm getting the answers to my concerns.
I would appreciate more time to discuss my particular case of degenerative disc disease and adjacent surgical failure.
Dr Weaver asked the questions and begins to problem solve on what my injury was. To his best ability and he begins treatment. I usually have secondary tests done before I am diagnosed but he always identifies the issue and helps get rid of it quickly.

He's very personable, treats you like a patient not a number, spends time to listen to you, doesn't talk to you as you know what he's saying in medical terms, he speaks with you at a level that is understandable. I've had several pain doctors in the past and I think he treats you with respect. He doesn't act as he's better than his patients.

Upon first impression, Dr. Weaver was great. He was enthusiastic, friendly, and let me take the lead on what treatment I wanted to pursue. I was so surprised and relieved that after months and years of being treated like a burden by the healthcare system, someone seemed almost excited to want to help. With hard-to-treat chronic pain where patients get the run-around from providers, this eagerness was extremely unusual in the best possible way. He did as he said and submitted everything directly after I left the office. I was very pleased.

I don't trust Dr. Weaver. He doesn't respond at all to my questions. He also lets other training doctors to give me a lot of pain before he stepped in to help. He didn't seem to care that I was suffering.

My care provider brushed off my concerns immediately and had zero idea what my medical history was. He could also be heard outside of my room loudly making jokes about me with the first provider I saw. He also made the decision for me to get a steroid injection without even asking me if that was something I desired to do. I have not had good experiences with steroids in the past, so I wanted to discuss other options, but he didn't care and spoke over me.

I spoke extensively about needing care for my back and neck and only received care for my neck. I was told that if I needed imaging for my back, I would need another appointment, and I cannot schedule one quickly enough. I will not receive adequate care or certainty that my back is in good condition before I have to return to work.
