About Me
As an orthopedic spine surgeon, I am passionate about helping to relieve patients’ back pain and improve their quality of life. I specialize in treating age-related spinal changes and disorders that affect the neck and lower back. When patients come to see me, they can trust that I will care for them like family, work with them to find a nonoperative solution for their condition and recommend surgery only if necessary.
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center fosters a team environment where everyone shares a common goal of improving patient care and it’s a privilege to be part of it. The collegiality between the faculty is unparalleled. I believe the commitment to collaboration makes us all better surgeons and enhances the care we provide to our patients.
The accessibility of mentors at The Ohio State University is also exceptional. It’s an honor to help train residents and medical students, and I believe the opportunity to share my personal experiences can help them become better physicians and surgeons. I also serve as an assistant professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
My role includes active research efforts aimed at advancing clinical care. For example, I helped develop a protocol to reduce radiation exposure in children who had suspected cervical spine trauma. My team and I presented our findings before the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
When I’m not working, my wife and I enjoy playing tennis and try to get on the courts at least once per week. We enjoy cooking and trying new restaurants around the city. We also like hiking and exploring state and national parks.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

He Is great and helps me know wat is needed to be done
Pleasant
He was awesome. Over the past few months I have seen multiple doctors trying to figure out what is wrong with my leg and he told me what he thought it was immediately and he was right. I finally felt like I didn't make up the pain I have been experiencing.
He is great
They r courteous

He was great
After waiting for an hour. I asked if that was normal. He said all of his patients wait an hour and that it is not so bad. He complained that he hadn't had time for lunch. Twice he walked behind me and yanked my shirt out and pushed my pants down so that he could look at my scare. Never asked permission or gave an explanation.
Very friendly and concerned about the problem. He was the surgeon and was very courteous and concerned about the procedure.
Very caring
Good - Reference to PT for pain.
Was very impressed with Dr. Kavuri. Excellent "bedside manner" and extremely kind.
Dr Kavuri is the most kind and professional doctors that provides great detail and seems very interested in patient outcome/care.
