Academics and research
I am a member of the Cancer Biology Program at the OSUCCC - James, where my research focuses on breast and gynecologic pathology.
In particular, I am interested in breast cancer biomarkers, especially HER2 and checkpoint immune markers, as well as endometrial and cervical cancer, and screening programs for cervical cancer.
My recent studies demonstrated that HER2 intratumoral heterogeneity detected by a novel, HER2 gene-protein assay plays an important role in predicting response to anti-HER2 targeted therapy. It also found that checkpoint immune markers play important roles in breast cancer patients survival and response to chemotherapy.
I have co-authored numerous articles in well-respected publications, including American Journal of Clinical Pathology, Modern Pathology and Breast Cancer Research and Treatment.
