About Me

I am an infectious disease specialist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. As an academic clinician, my mission is to disseminate knowledge and to provide high-quality, evidence-based clinical care to prevent and treat infections in cancer patients and hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients.

I work closely with hematology-oncology and transplant experts at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (The James). We collaborate on innovative research and work as a team to develop clinical approaches that will close knowledge gaps and foster team-science efforts. I also represent The James on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines panel, which is focused on the prevention and treatment of cancer-related infections. I also serve on the Transplant Infectious Diseases Special Interest Group Steering Committee for The American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy.

My research is focused on better understanding infections related to chemotherapy/immunomodulatory agents among cancer and transplant populations. I am also interested in antimicrobial stewardship related to immunocompromised hosts.

I am passionate about educating medical students, Internal Medicine residents and Infectious Diseases fellows on the inpatient consult service. I’ve been honored with teaching awards, including the “Excellence in Teaching” award from the Department of Internal Medicine’s Student Education for the 2018-2019 academic year. I also received the “Teacher of the Year” award from the Infectious Diseases fellowship program for the academic year 2020-2021. In addition, I serve as co-director of the immunocompromised host infectious diseases track, which is part of the infectious diseases fellowship program at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
