Patients receive outpatient care for serious and life-threatening infections here, with approximately 75 percent in the field of HIV medicine and 25 percent receiving consultative care for other infectious diseases, sometimes as hospital follow-ups.
Our HIV-infected patients benefit from the presence of the on-site National Institutes of Health-funded AIDS Clinical Trials Unit, which includes our faculty, research nurses, a study pharmacist and other support staff as well as access to the latest multi-center clinical trials.
A representative of the AIDS Resource Center (ARC) is on-call, or a meeting can be scheduled. Phlebotomy is performed on site.
Consultation with other medical sub-specialties and support services such as nutrition, PICC line placement and routine X-rays are available in the clinic facility.
