Our Nutrition Services team provides high-quality meals that appeal to a wide variety of palettes. We offer chef specials that change daily, homemade soups and a wide variety of daily alternatives that are sure to please any preference, stage in life or medical need.
You can order your meals at your own pace, either when one of our nutrition aides visits your room or by using the MyChart Bedside Order My Meal app.

In-room menu for patients
Registered dietitians, partnering with professionally trained chefs, have created specific menus for different health concerns, tastes, and preferences. While some diets are restricted on various nutrients, such as sodium or carbohydrates, we're more than happy to work with you to ensure you are fully satisfied with every meal throughout your stay.
Every inpatient is prescribed a diet by their doctor or dietitian that meets their nutritional/medical needs. See hospital menus and instructions for ordering with MyChart Bedside. These meals will be delivered directly to your bedside.
In addition, snacks and drinks are available at any time, on each patient floor. Ask a nurse or patient care associate (PCA) for a list of current options.

BistrOH! and BistrOH! To Go
Located across our inpatient and outpatient locations, BistrOH! and BistrOH! To Go offer a variety of takeout or sit-down meal options. You’ll find the broadest selection in the full-service BistrOH! cafeterias in University Hospital – Rhodes and Ohio State East Hospital. Menus update regularly, featuring seasonal flavors as available.
Terrace Café
Located on the second floor of University Hospital, the Terrace Café offers both indoor and outdoor patio seating and a full menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner options, including made-to-order items, a variety of hot grill and entrée choices, cold deli items, an expanded pizza station and daily homemade soup specials.
Buckeye Express
Two Buckeye Express coffee shop locations are available inside University Hospital.
- Ground Floor Buckeye Express: 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays. Offering barista-style drinks, pastries and grab-and-go options.
- Second Floor Buckeye Express: 8 p.m. to 3 p.m. daily (closed during dinner hours). Offering barista-style drinks, pastries, smoothies, refreshers and grab-and-go options.
Bloch Café
Located on the 14th floor of The James, the Bloch Café offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, featuring options that highlight foods used in cancer research.. Outdoor seating is available in the terrace garden, weather permitting.
BistrOH! RoboJo
Located in The James lobby, BistrOH! RoboJo is a robot-operated coffee bar that is open 23 hours a day, seven days a week. It is closed daily from 2–3 p.m. for servicing. Available items are like those you’ll find in your favorite copy shop, including lattes, mochas, chai and more. The kiosk accepts payments via credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Dining facilities managed by Ohio State accept payment with:
- A credit card, debit card, or prepaid credit/debit card
- Your digital wallet or tap-to-pay (Google Pay or Apple Pay)
- A prepaid card from one of our Reverse ATMs.
- These machines will give you a nonreloadable card with a balance equal to the amount of cash you deposit. Any unused balance on the card can be used anywhere that accepts credit cards.

The Cheesecake Girl
Located in the first-floor corridor between the 12th Avenue Garage and University Hospital – Doan, the Cheesecake Girl is locally-owned and operated, offering a variety of homemade cheesecakes and other desserts.
EspressOasis
Located on the first floor of University Hospital – Doan near the 12th Avenue Garage, EspressOasis serves pastries, coffees and other beverages.
Panera
Located at ground level of the SAFEAUTO Garage, Panera is a full-service bakery/café with breakfast, lunch and dinner options, including hot soups, fresh salads, sandwiches on freshly baked bread, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, pastries, cookies and coffee.
Wendy’s
Located on the ground floor between University Hospital – Doan and University Hospital – Pavilion, Wendy’s offers a fast-food menu, including burgers, fries and well-known Frosties.

Vending machines
Located in larger areas inside our medical center locations, vending machines are always available, offering snacks, beverages and entrees. Change machines are also provided.
