COLUMBUS, Ohio – Power has been fully restored to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center East Hospital following a seven-hour power outage. During the outage, we activated our emergency plan and worked closely with American Electric Power Ohio to restore service. Our top priority is always to provide excellent patient care. At this time, the hospital emergency department is on divert status for ambulances and Friday elective surgeries and procedures have been cancelled. Outpatient appointments in the hospital tower on Friday have not been cancelled. Outpatient Services at East (formerly called CarePoint East) was not impacted by the power outage.
