Research Interests:
• Recovery of function following neurologic injury
• Methods of measuring functional recovery
• Changes in the nervous system associated with that recovery

Current Research: Dr. Larsen participated in a national clinical trial (EXCITE) to evaluate the effectiveness of constraint-induced therapy for the recovery of arm function following stroke, and a second multi-centered trial looking at the mapping of changes in the motor cortex associated with functional recovery of arm function after stroke, using functional magnetic resonance imaging and transcranial magnetic stimulation. Her team has also developed a new test of sensory function, which is undergoing testing and for which they have applied for a patent.
